When I was little I fascinated by both of my grandparents wedding photos. I don’t remember how old i was, probably 8 years old and I remember always asking to see them everytime I visited either of their houses. They weren’t polished or posed, it was just them, raw, in the moment and completely themselves.
I didn’t have the words for it then, but i knew it was something special. These photos made me feel like I was actually there.
I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since.
On your day, I’ll be the person that in certain moments you forget is there, yet warm enough to feel like a friend and present enough to catch the look your partner gives you, when they think nobody’s watching.
I work a lot with people who genuinely don’t love being photographed. The ones who start their enquiry with “We’re both so awkward in front of the camera”. Honestly? Those are my favourite weddings and elopements. Because the moment my couples forget the camera is there, that’s when the real stuff happens… and I’ll be ready for it.
